Radar detectors are devices designed to detect the presence of fixed or mobile radar. They generally cost around €500. Once installed on a windshield, they also pick up radars using the same principle (detection of electromagnetic waves). The corded model is less discreet and easy to spot. The last on the list is the wireless detector, which has a battery as its power source. It can be turned off all the time to save energy, but the information communicated may be inaccurate after frequent interruptions. A radar detector can be a device in the form of a box, but it can also take the form of applications or communication devices. It can be said that a GPS, a smartphone, or even modules like Wikango or Coyote will serve as radar detectors, because most of these accessories know whether or not there is a radar somewhere on your journey and will then be able to communicate that to you. Some sharing networks that provide information on the location of radar cameras will also be considered radar detectors. The operation is very simple, as it just requires updating the modules and the connection will do the rest by scanning the surroundings and searching for all information on risk areas, whether or not there is a radar.
